About the project

The creation of two innovative and convenient retail spaces to elevate the campus experience and the academic pursuits of students.

An expanded and reinvented HuskerTech store with 1,550 square feet for retail, repair, and admin operations + 250 square feet for laptop checkout and storage.
A brand new Herbie’s Market - at 782 square feet, it is the retailer's 7th campus location and the first enabled with Just Walk Out technology by Amazon for fast, frictionless shopping.

HuskerTech and Laptop Checkout relocation: July 22–23, 2024 COMPLETED

NCard Office relocation: September 16, 2023 (read below for details). COMPLETED

Construction Barrier installed: August 2024 COMPLETED

Substantial construction completed: Early 2025

Finishing construction completed: Early 2025

Construction impacts on students and visitors

For Your Safety:

Pay attention to posted signs and directions, as well as verbal instructions from Nebraska Union staff.

Expect occasional disruptions due to dust and noise (e.g. jackhammer, drilling).
Foot traffic will be occasionally rerouted to accommodate the construction.

Seating relocated

The booths, tables, and chairs have moved to various spots throughout the Union's first floor.

West entrance is open

A construction barrier wall will encase a significant interior area near the Union’s west entrance, yet the entry doors and ramp remain open and accessible.
